Message from the President

The end of the year is typically a time for reflection and as I look back on the 25 years that we have been involved in this business, I can see that the landscape is changing more quickly than ever:

  - Consolidation in the market has reduced the number of players in the DM/RM space

  - RM is becoming very mainstream and totally integrated into the DM offering

  - Virtualization is becoming the norm: virtual meetings, virtual servers, and now this last year, virtual MLC offices and service offerings. We no longer need to travel at all for an engagement

Due to our focus on this industry we were able to predict all these changes and have continued to offer quality services that are second-to-none in this evolving market.

What has remained constant, however, is the loyalty and friendship of our customers and our commitment to excellence and success of all of their projects. This is especially important in these tough economic times where budgets are strained and yet the demand for efficiency, performance, responsiveness, value for money and quality are not something to be compromised. Our clients that use us repeatedly for their projects do so because they know that we excel in all these areas.

I would like to thank all of our clients for the business and the opportunity to work with you in the past and wish you all a happy holiday season. We look forward to 2009 and hope you will again consider us for any upcoming project, large or small. MLC unveils new Wireless DMS Suite at Content World, 2008

Matrix Logic participated in Open Text Content World 2008 as a sponsor and exhibitor. At Content World MLC unveiled new releases of our Wireless DMS Suite. Feedback from customers who participated in our WDMS demonstrations was overwhelmingly positive. Additionally, beginning in 2008, Open Text is actively promoting Matrix Logic’s Wireless DMS solutions to eDOCS customers in need of DMS access for their Blackberry and iPhone users. Open Text Sales staff now include Matrix Logic WDMS products in their sales presentations, demonstrations, proposals and RFP responses when Wireless DMS access is required.

The Wireless DMS Suite is comprised of the following modules:

  - Minibrowser Module

  - Email Service

  - MobileSync 2 Sync DM with PCs, PDA and USB thumb drives

  - iPhone Application Module

  - Smart Import – import and automatically profiles documents to DM

  - WirelessDMS – Access from iPhone, SmartPhone, Blackberry

  - Automated document profiling with MLC Metadata Extraction Analysis Technology

In addition to WirelessDMS We also presented “Intelligent Profiling” utility, an updated Batch OCR, and “Thumbnails” a Digital Asset tool that enhances the storage of photographs and other digital media inside e-Docs. Open Text presents eDOCS Roadmap

At Content World 2008 Open Text presented an updated Road Map for the future of the e-Docs platform. This session highlighted the direction of the eDOCS DM/RM (version 5 & 6) software. MLC has summarized some of the key points of the eDOCS roadmap for out customers below:

  1. The natural progression for the eDOCS products is to the Open Text ECM Suite.

  2. Customers can begin their migration to the ECM Suite today using the Enterprise Connect client and can take advantage of Business Views capabilities.

  3. eDOCS DM 6.0.5 will continue to be supported on existing platforms. Open Text plans to release Cumulative Updates (CU) for this release for a period of eighteen (18) months after the release of the Open Text Suite v10 which is scheduled for Q2 of Calendar 2010. The next roadmap milestone for DM 6.0.5 will be the ECM Suite.

  4. eDOCS DM 5.2.x will continue to evolve and be enhanced. The next roadmap milestone is code named “eDOCS14” and will provide support for MS Office 14, Windows 2008 and MS SQL 2008.

  5. Open Text has adopted the practice of publishing regular Roadmap updates. The Roadmap presented at Content Word 2008 was Published November 17, 2008 and Expires January 31, 2009.

The expanded features of our WirelessDMS solution extends the reach of your eDOCS document repository. It allows you to access documents from a handheld or wireless device. Email Import for eDOCS DM Featured in E-Mail Management Roundtable at ILTA 2008

Brent Wiley, IT Director at Ryley Carlock & Applewhite, a Matrix Logic customer, participated in an email management panel titled “Zeroing in on E-Mail Management: Getting Closer to the Optimal Solutions”. Email Import for eDOCS DM is designed to help you bring emails from Outlook folders into your eDOCS DM system in bulk.

Features include:

  - Select an Outlook folder and optionally all subfolders for importing all at once

  - A single profile is displayed allowing you complete a 'master' profile once for all items

  - Each message and attachment is profiled using the master profile, replacing document name with the message/attachment name, setting the correct application ID

  - Progress is displayed during profiling and processing, listing all messages, and showing profiling taking place

  - All email threads are maintained

  - Process runs unattended once started

  - Any errors or problems are displayed in a summary report at the end of the process
